We finally found out what the Dec. baby is gonna be! It is for sure a boy! After 2 sonograms there is no doubt! So now we are waiting for mom and dad to pick out a name! But they still have plenty of time for that!
The round robin is getting close to being over. I have 2 more borders to do and then in September mine will come home! I am soooo ready to see it! I have been really good and not peeked so it will totally be a surprise! I can't wait!
I am in the process of completely remodeling my sewing room. I have taken EVERYTHING out and organized my fabric! Huge accomplishment! I will remove the popcorn from the ceiling first, then retexture the walls and paint! Got new shelves to put in and for my birthday, my dear sweet hubby had me sewing table built to put in my new room!
Maybe my next post will have before and after pictures! til next time...

The End of June!
Well life has been pretty busy this month! LOTS of work and not much free time. Really looking forward to a 3 day week-end! I need to finish some sewing that should have already been done, but with kids, grandkids, and granddogs I haven't had much free time! My round robin border that should have already been in the mail on the 26th is still waiting for me to finish it! Thank goodness the lady I am sending it to is on vacation and not sitting at home waiting on it! I have several sunbonnet sue blocks to make for a swap that is due in August and Happy blocks for July the need to be redone because I didn't read the details of the fabric choices! So, this week-end may be a holiday week-end but I have LOTS of work to do at home! When I get some finished products I will come back and post pictures and that will probably be my July post!
By the way, the end of July we should find out what our new baby is! Can't wait! Things are going really good with the pregnancy so far! Yeah! I am soooo happy for my kids, it is unbelieveable!

Life's Update
Don't you just hate it when life gets in the way of things that you really want to do? Well that's what has happened to me this past month. Life got very busy!
About 3 1/2 weeks ago my husband and I got the bright idea to have a clean-up day on Saturday. Friday night we had our grandson spend the night and his dad was going to come help us the next morning. When we got up we decided that the pile of limbs in the pasture could go ahead and burn down some before Nathan got there. That way it wouldn't be quite so hot to add more limbs as we cut them. Robby's not so bright idea was to pour gas on it! Can we say"BOOM"?Needless to say, he got burnt pretty bad and we had to make a run to the ER.
Nathan met us 1/2 way and took Coby so he wouldn't have to be at the hospital. And then he went on back to the house to put the fire out. And, yes, they called the fire department, AGAIN! This only makes the 3rd time they have been called to our house. And, yes, Robby loves to burn things!
Anyway, Robby suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his right arm that has taken a considerable amount of my free time to clean and dress. We had a niece to come and help with 1/2 of the dressing changes, thank God! I could never have done it by myself! But with the prayers of ALOT of people on his behalf he has healed remarkably fast. Even the doctor was surprised!
So we haven't been doing any fishing, or yard work or anything else! But he is about done healing and maybe soon we can get some things done! He still has to be careful when he is in the sun, but other than that he is healing well.
Check back later and maybe I'll post some photos!

Round Robin
Well, here is a picture of my medallion for the round robin @ Q&N. It has been done and mailed for a while. I am just now getting around to posting a picture of it! Today I finished the border for Deb's block and getting it ready to mail on Monday to Denise.
I have to admit it sounds kinda strange for me to be talking about Deb and Denise on here because I have 2 sisters with those names. Small world after all, huh?
When this is all done I will post pictures of the borders that I have done too. But for right now they will just be my little secret.
Hope you enjoy and I will post more pictures later!

My Favorite Quilt Block

This is a picture that I wanted to share of a quilt block I made for a swap on Block Central. It's called Squire Smith's Choice. I made this because that was my grandmother's maiden name. The fabric choice was 30's Reproductions and the swap was for your favorite quilt block. So I did a little research and found this block that originated from the late 1800's. And since we were doing 30's repro. I thought it would be appropriate with the name and everything. I paper pieced it and I must admit that it is only the second time I paper pieced anything. I also had to enlarge it. The pattern was for a 6" block and I needed a 12" block. So there were alot of firsts for me in the making of this block. I learned alot and had fun too. Now the drawing for these is April 15th so maybe I will be lucky and win too! Enjoy!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Well, this has been an exciting month! My sweet husband finally broke down and bought a brand new boat! We have almost always owned a boat of one kind or another, but this is our first brand new one! And crappie season is upon us so we will be on the lake alot very soon! I still have alot of sewing to do, but I will get it done and still have time to fish!
My daughter got a sewing machine the other day and is going to try to learn to sew. I know, I'm a bad mother for not teaching her before now. But she is just now asking. When she was younger she was too interested in other things. BOYS, FRIENDS and anything that didn't have to do with me or the family life! Now she is my best friend. She has found out that false friends leave you in times of trouble. Don't get me wrong, she has other friends too, but we are just closer now than ever before! It's a good thing!
I got my medallion done for the round robin and it is gone to it's first stop. I am waiting patiently on the one I am to work on to arrive. I am soooo looking forward to seeing how mine turns out! I have seen some pretty awesome finished tops from previous round robins and I can't wait til we all get done!
Well, this is my post for February! Hope all is well with the world in your neck of the woods! See you next month!
