Quilter's Delight

The garage sale that I went to was a daughter that was selling all her mother's stash and started projects because her mom wasn't able to sew anymore and believe it or not she herself didn't quilt. Hence the title of the add in the newspaper: Quilter's Delight! Here are some pictures that I took of my haul! I spent a whopping total of $26.00. Most of the bags I bought with projects already started that she had priced at $.50 but some were a whole $1.00! The cuts of fabric were anywhere from $.50-$2.00. I could have stayed there all day! Now on to the pictures! Enjoy!

This was a bag full of strippy blocks that are just like what we were swapping on our Scrappyand Happy yahoo group. Only this lady was paper piecing them. The newspaper she used was old so no telling when she started this project!

This is a quilt that the lady had started and it's not quite all there. But I love the way it was coming together. Not sure how I will finish it. And there were pillow panles to go with it.

This is a stack and whack that the lady already had cut out and it has lots of leftovers to add to it too! Coby is gonna love this one!

This one is large enough to put together and have a top already. It is in strips and just needs to be put together!

This one is in LOTS of pieces. She had tons cut but only this one put together. (not real neatly done either) But I think I can do alot with it.

Not really sure even what it's called, are they stars or what?

And then there is this panel that Miss Cindy would probably love, since it's purple and all! But I thought it was precious with the butterflies and flowers!

Here's alot more little pieces she had cut out but nothing done. I really like these little pieces!

These are the cuts of fabric that I picked up. Some of them have several yards in them!

These are charms that are cute and a few are put together. I will probably take them back apart and use in a more random arrangement!

This on I REALLY loved! Great head start to my black and white quilt I wanted to do!

So that's it for now! I do hope you enjoyed my treasure as much as I enjoyed digging through her stash. Guess I need to read the paper more often! lol

P.S. She even sold me her mother's pretty little heart shaped pin cushion. Sorry I forgot to take a picture of it. And two good size wicker baskets! Now that's what I call a true "Quilter's Delight"!

Miss Me?

So where has all the time gone since I was in here last? I have no idea! But in the mean time I have had 2 more grandbabies and life is good! In June I have a trip planned to Anchorage Alaska. This is to celebrate my 30th anniversary with the man I married when I was just a kid! I am so looking forward to this trip but I have NEVER flown, so am just a little nervous! But my tickets are booked and I am not backing out now!
Over on The Quilt and Needle we are doing a row robin this time and my theme is going to be all about my 30th anniversary trip. In other words ALASKA! Of course I am a non-peeker so it will be a surprise when I get it home. My 2010 round robin is almost home. It is at it's last stop before reuniting with me! I LOVE surprises so I have always been a non-peeker and it is sooooo worth the wait to let it just be a surprise when it comes home! Row/Round robin, it doesn't matter. These are soooo much fun and I talked 2 new ladies into joining us this year! So far they are loving it! It is so awesome to get people from "across the pond" to help out on our projects. It really makes these thing SUPER special! Not that they aren't special being done by those friends here in the states, it's just a neat idea that these tops get to do more traveling than I do! lol
Well, that's all for now. As soon as I get time I will set down and add some new pictures to this blog. Thanks for staying with me. I'll try to do better.
P.S. Garage sale finds to come! You won't believe what I got yesterday for just a few bucks! Let's just say that the add in the paper said "Quilter's Delight"!!!
